First of all thanks to all for your comments and for viewing my pictures.
Pardon me for delayed response, some reason I didn't get notification email for your comments except for the first comment from Digirame .

Nice shot of the cat. Good selection of shutter speed and aperture. However, the face of the cat looks a little soft. Were you using all focus points? Try center focus point only and focus on the eyes.
This case focus point selection was in auto which resulted in multiple points being selected.
Any reason for center point only? this might result in parts of the body blurred as those part are far from center focus point? larger f number (7 or larger ) would compensate for this?
By using the center point YOU pick the point of focus and not the camera. When using auto point selection, the camera will pick the nearest object that falls under a focus point and has sufficient contrast for auto focus. This may or may not be what you want. Better to pick your spot and be sure. Also, with people and animals you always want the eyes in sharp focus because that is where the viewer is drawn to in the image.
A higher f/number will possibly help to some degree by increasing the depth of field, but that only goes so far. If the camera picks a focus point that leaves the desired point of focus out of the DOF then you gain nothing, and you may have slowed your shutter speed too much so that camera shake or subject motion become a problem.
Keep shooting, and good luck!
