Candlelight Service picture

Greetings and Happy New Year!

Let me start by saying I really don't know what I'm doing.

I took the following photograph of our Christmas Eve service.

In iPhoto, I did the following:

  • Straightened image (I underrotated slightly to retain the whole star at upper left; would it be less distracting to crop the edge or keep "leaning right" a bit?)

  • Increased exposure by 1 EV (I didn't want to go higher because it would undercut the "candlelit" lighting and make it even noisier)

  • Preserved highlights (+12 on slider)

  • Preserved shadows (+9 on slider)

  • Shifted tint slider toward green (to +24)

Is there anything else you'd do, or something you'd do differently?

I totally get that there's only so much to do with a noisy JPEG shot in low light with a $100 camera. I'll accept any advice that you can offer.
