Re: Who will survive the mirrorless jungle?

Mirrorless isn't a threat to the pro market that give Canon and Nikon their reputation. Pros are still going to stick with SLRs in those brands because they have equipment available in a huge selection around the globe.

Casual SLR users and curious P&S upgrade customers are split between many more brands and those are the ones that mirrorless is going after. So far, NEX is the highest rated mirrorless line, with all three tiers of the line getting higher scores than most competitors (NEX 7 is incredibly well-received by critics).

I don't think anyone is going to have their mirrorless line die out. I don't think any brand is being threatened by mirrorless. Canon will be fine with or without it, as will all the other companies involved in the mirrorless competition.

I must admit that this is a case where I am really loving the competition, even though I most love the NEX line so far.
