Tell us where you're from

Usee, that's quite an astonishing picture.
I'm happy that You enjoy it!
I lived for much of a decade in Basel, and never remember seeing a sky like that.

From the treetops, maybe you are a little outside -- though not necessarily, since as you know there are many trees in the city, and some of them on rooftop meadows too.
Well, that may be because this sunset was taken near Freiburg,

which is (as You probably know) not far from Basel, in terms of the distances some Canadian and other residents have to drive to a doctor...

...Basel is international known, I think.
Lots of nice sunsets, anyway, and enjoyed from within a mix of cultures and customs which was truly a joy, as a place to live. I continue to read the papers and know there are more problems now, and with understanding, but I think Switzerland and Basel will, as before, well find their way.
Yes, lots of nice sunsets:

(I used it somewhere as a example for color space differences and losses in gradation due to compression, but therefore it is on this computer and easy to share.)

I enjoy living in this region - near Switzerland!
Regards,
Clive

I'm using DP1 and Pana LX3 , I saw an interested thread ' Tell us where you're from ' in the Panasonic forum , I borrow the thread to put here for Sigma friends who like to respond ;

This is a wonderful time of year and people around the world are reaching out to celebrate. Our Sigma Forum is such a grand place to electronically congregate, and we get to know each other through our photography. we are growing and getting new members. So, let's get better acquainted and send greetings from where we call hom .

There used to be a world wide Sigma user map posted here but I have'nt seen it for a long time now. You used to be able to zoom into it, put your pin on your location and add your name.

I live and work in Førde, not far north of Bergen at the west coast of Norway. Much more nature then settlement - mostly mountains and fjords, a nice coastline and some glaciers.

Owner of SD14 (about two years), DP1s (some weeks, still waiting for some decent light to try it properly) and soon SD9 (where is this going to end? :)) Also some Canons.

Some views from Førde (SD14):

I'm in Western New York State, not too far from brittonx.

I'd post a photo showing January in this area, but I am just getting acquainted with my new SD14.

There's a little thrill in seeing the addresses and photos from around the world.

Hi Arne.
Nice to hear that.

Sadly the only place in Norway I have been to is Stavanger (Ulsnes), a couple of times for business reasons, but I never managed to visit downtown.

Regards.

I live in Arlington, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, as I have for 20 years or so.

Here's a view of Boston from the park at the end of my street:

But I'm from Dallas, Texas originally.
