I've been doing the same on a much more limited scale, such that that most of my kit is free now. What I'll usually do is buy somebody's kit and sell everything piecemeal except one item to break even. So I end up with a single "free" thing, be it a lens or body or flash.... I've done this enough to have 2 cameras and 4 lenses, which are plenty for me (at the moment) plus about a $grand in my paypal account.
I end up with lot of old camera bags, which I give away. I also have filters of every size and variety, which I almost never use. One thing I can never find under-priced is Pentax Ltd's. Maybe it can be done but, not easily. Most importantly it gives me a chance to try new equipment without major expense.

I'm going to print this thread and leave it on my wife's desk....

--I doubt I can top you, Mike; my total interchangeable lens collection is only just over 450, and I've been actively collecting for almost 10 years now. At the rate you're going you will surpass me in less than 5 years! I might beat you on the value side, though, as I have 47 Leica and 23 Zeiss rangefinder lenses in addition to some rare Pentax SLR lenses, and they ain't cheap...
Unlike you, I rarely sell a lens - only duplicates go on the block, so all I have to show for my efforts is some display cases. I suppose I'm like Scrooge McDuck and his money vault, the difference being that I have lenses to wallow in rather than currency.
In any event, best wishes for your success in this "business"!
