Challenging light: some photos from the past weeks

Even these dark winter days, I bring one of my camera's with me. But it's often very hard to handle the low light situations. So, a lot of noise this time.

Hand held shot with the DP2x. Lot of (good) noise.

Art. Amsterdam airport. Hand held shot with the DP2x.
Too bad, too much banding.

I was asked to shoot a christmas celebration for the school of my children. I doubted heavily but gave it a try. Challenging situation, I wasn't able to bounce my flash due to a very high ceiling (the only white wall was behind the stage, as you can see). Shot some with and some without flash. This one was shot without flash on a tripod.

Birthday party of my daughter. A friend of her shot with the SD14 and the external flash bounced off the ceiling (TTL and flash comp +2/3). My DG500-super flash is not very consistent, often the result is highly underexposed, but some photos are fine. This one was still rather dark, so I had to raise the exposure during PP.

Hand held shot with OS. (Lens Sigma 18-200mm OS). Flower under a small incandescent light.

Indoor portrait, with (bright) daylight and bounced flash light (main). Sigma 50mm Macro lens used. Besides the white balance this was the least challenging shot.

Thanks for viewing. Many blessings for the next year!
