Re: Is the Panasonic G3 or GH2 clean at base ISO?

I just got a used GH2 a couple days ago, but unfortunately we've had really bad weather. I can tell already though that DR is better than my two 12mp Oly cams (E5 and 620). When taking a photo of my white and black dog the whites stay more distinct while still looking white, and I've noticed better color retention in lifted shadows. So my guess is you will see better base noise, since those things usually go hand in hand.

The GH2 is a real challenge to use in other ways, though. Its auto iso seems to like overly low shutter speeds. Controls are surprisingly tiny. Finish is a little on the "cheap plastic" side compared to the 620. My first impression was that I was holding one of their FZ cameras. It's going to take a while to learn, and I find myself using manual mode to get the shutter speed, aperture, and iso I want more often than the Oly's.
