If I want to get serious, I take my NEX with better glass. I have a choice, including the fine 18-55 kit lens. But for something for my pocket because I want to travel light, I take the LX3. You must know that the LX3 also shoots in RAW. But if I need a really small travel cam that zooms 10x, I use a Panasonic TZ4, which has never let me down.

To have something smaller/lighter, I decideed to get the 16mm. I finally got around to posting some off the results online.

Conclusion? I find it to be sharp enough. The corners are rarely a problem just due to content, but at wider apertures, it is often noticeable.
