Just uploaded another hi-res cubic panorama of the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford UK.

Bewarned this pano is 2.2mb. I'm working on the multi-res version at the moment but I don't know when I'll get it uploaded.

It was taken on a -3C winter day. It looks nice and warm but my fingers were frozen by the time I'd finished. I definitely need some leg warmers for my tripod.

Regardless of some of the other posts on this forum I think the CP5000 rules !!!!

That is fantastic! I miss the wide angle capability of my CP5000. I sold it and got a CP5700, which I don't regret, but I do wish I had the wide. I can't wait for the 12-24 DX lens for my D100!

That is just trick.....it reminds me of my favorite computer games/ Myst/Riven/Myst 3.

It should be pointed out that if you hold the cursor down and point to the left...right...up...or down.......the picture will rotate 360 degrees...and you can also move in or out. (this may be obvious..or not)

For this pano I took 117 images. +-1EV and 0 for each image.

I take (12@0 deg) 3, (12@ +45 deg) 3 , (12 @ -45 deg) 3 and 1 at both (+90 deg) 3 and -90

I had to take this many to get the colour balance and exposure correct. I also used the standard 28mm lens. I could have taken less but I want to print this series of images as large and high quality as possible.

I can produce a 250mb pano movie from these images and the resolution is unbelievable. You can zoom right in and checkout any part of the pano in great detail. I normal use the 19mm adapter and take 12@0, 6@-45 and 6@45 and 1 at both +- 90 for a total of 26 images but in some circumstances this is just not enough.

I used PTMAC. Check it out at http://www.kekus.com I takes a lot of practice and patience to get it right though. The most important aspect is generating the correct distortion parameters for you lens.
That pano rules! That's so good that other panos want to be it when
they grow up. What software did you use for the stiching?

Nice stuff, it's one of the joys of owning a digital camera.

And don't worry about what some may say about the 5000, if one well known company can take the trouble to try and discredit this great cam in some pro mags, then there has to be a pretty good reason.

Keep it up

Michael

What a skill! How did you manage with the sky? The sky looks seamless.
