NEX 7 body shipped (ordered yesterday!) and I received two Zeiss 24mm lenses!

Ok, I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and play the lottery tonight.

Here's the deal - yesterday morning (12/20) I had just about given up on the NEX 7 coming any time soon (I preordered from Amazon in September) so thought I'd search for a CZ 24mm (I already have a 5n). So went to Adorama's web site yesterday morning at 7am. I placed an order for the CZ 24 because it said it was in stock. After placing the order I got an email telling me it was actually back ordered. So I went searching again and found one on buydig.com - placed that order and then called to confirm later in the morning it was in stock. They said it was and would ship. It did and I received it today.

Last night I decided to keep searching and on focuscamera's site it said they had an NEX7 body in stock. Not completely convinced but figured why not try it. I ordered it.

Went to bed.

Woke up this morning and tried to get in touch with focuscamera - no luck. Still I was excited because the CZ 24 was coming. It arrived at work this afternoon. At about the same time, I received and email from adorama that the CZ shipped from them also and would arrive today which was confusing since I just received an email saying it was not in stock. Well, it did arrive today as well and will have to go back.

I just received a UPS shipping confirmation from focuscamera that the NEX7 shipped as well and will be here tomorrow!
 
Congrats. I also lucked out and ordered a NEX-7 from Focus Camera yesterday. Saw it listed as in stock on their site and called to double-check. It was, and I placed the order right then over the phone to make sure I got it.

Very excited to get it tomorrow, and glad I was able to get it without paying the crazy prices some people are paying on eBay.

Now I just need to decide if I want the CZ lens to start, or potentially a zoom first.

I ordered from focus camera yesterday and should arrive tomorrow.
Just curiosity,how much did they charge you for overnight shipping?
Me $80 for UPS overnight air,California.Which I think is expensive.

$72 to Florida. Definitely expensive but can't complain - I would have paid a few hundred over list to have it now so just happy I got it.

Did you receive it?

I have no experience before with them and their on line rating is not encouraging.
I'm afraid they will send us 5N instead of the 7.:)

I was about to say something similar but you beat me to it.

Focus Camera doesn't have a very good rating and people seem to have a lot of trouble getting their orders.

Anyway, good luck and I hope everything works out great.
 
Not yet I am traveling until Jan 6, so I ordered with Free Shipping...arriving 27th December...confirmed from Nat at Focus Camera....

Now I can get the 18-200 Tamron for sizing down and try it against the 18-200 Sony...if the Tamron is even close I am going to sell the Sony as the size of the Tamron is more appealing...still both overpriced...I thought it was pointless for Tamron to make a 18-200, but they sized it down nicely and you can get solid black which will be a good match for the Nex-7....

I'm also thinking about getting the Tamron instead of the Sony - the smaller size looks much more appealing. I may have to stop by B&H and see if I can take a look at it since it looks like tey have it in stock.
 
My NEX-7 body was just delivered from Focus Camera. Quickly looked over it and everything looks great (definitely new, doesn't appear gray market etc). Battery is charging now so hopefully I can start using it soon.

Really glad I was able to find it before Christmas, and without needing to pay a premium above list price.

Mine also.
Thinking about ebaying it and wait for the kit in February.
 
Sounds like you guys did great.

You might want to post something on resellerratings.com to help focus camera's rating.

If I go to FedEx and get a rate quote for shipping from GA to IA (about 1500 miles) for a 4 lb package, overnight delivery fee is listed as $80 US. Remember, some stores subsidized express delivery fees or get volume discounts.

Got mine also - all charged up. As most have reported, great first impressions. Feel 100% in control with so much quick access to settings.

I always thought the 5n felt very well built but after handling the 7, the 5n actually feels very plasticky.

I bought the 24mm Zeiss from Focus Camera to show my appreciation...they could've ebayed the cams, but instead did the honorable thing...

I have bought from them in the past with no issues at all....
