Interesting: I didn't realize that there was a "hand-held, night" in iA mode but now I see where it is. If you use the regular "Night Portrait, Hand-held" mode from the selection dial you'll hear the 10 "clicks" as it saves the data. It still doesn't let you select aperture or speed however and you can't turn the I.S. "Off". (If it does, "how?") Seems to work OK but now you've got me wondering what would happen with a tripod. Must check that one tonight. My suspicion is that it might "fight" to find something to lock onto but we'll see.

There have been a couple of posts where HANDHELD NITE MODE on a tripod results in worse shots because there's no hand shake to compensate for. I guess it's truly intended for hand holding!
