Re: PanaNewbie

Awesome, okay that would be good, but wait until I actually get the camera though as Canada doesn't even have any yet. :-\

So would following your suggested settings (thanks for those by the way!) would that then apply for low light indoor shooting, outdoors in daytime, the little one crawling around on the floor, etc? Or would I have to tweak the settings for each "situation" ?

Oh boy, that's difficult to say for each of them. Things like single area focus, Shoot only IS, would work fine for almost every situation. But one's that deal directly with light, such as Exposure Compensation, would need to be tweaked according to the brightness of the scene.

I'll send you a few tips by PM or email (if you have it activated in your profile). They will be links to related subjects at my site, which is geared primarily toward beginner digital photographers. If you have follow-up questions, I'll be glad to help as I can. With the Christmas holiday just a few days away, and helping my daughter with my grandson who is having surgery tomorrow, my participation in the forums will be toned down.

NOTE to self: you should tone down participation all through the year. lol (I'm currently reading "The Digital Diet" by Daniel Sieberg)
