Re: What currently is the best slide to digital tool

I bought a Nikon 5000ED and replaced the Nikon software with VueScan. VueScan supports Digital Ice (scratch removal). I'm getting fantastic results.

IF you have an older PC with an early version of XP, you can pick up a used HP S20 scanner. It scans at 2400 dpi. New it was $250. However, it requires drivers that won't work under XP SP2 or SP3 -- and HP refuses to update. I'd give you mine, but I threw it out after buying the Nikon scanner.

The latest version of VueScan MAY support this scanner without the HP drivers; you may wish to check.
