AA batteries no longer the trend?

AA batteries no longer allowed in Japan

Japan Inc. now mandates that all power sources, even 1.4V batteries, are required to have shielded contacts. AA contacts are exposed so fail this requirement. BTW, so does the Li battery used on most Nikons to date (eg. D90, D700), so they are being replaced on all new models as well.
