Careful there again. FOV is a function of frame size, focal length and lens distortion . At the same focal length, more barrel distortion = wider view angle.

So the distortion correction loses some of the lens' view angle, but it doesn't make a 14mm lens into a 15mm lens—it makes a distorted 14mm lens into a rectilinear 14mm lens.
