Re: One thing is for sure:

Thanks for the clarification. I understand your point now: photographs by the same photographer taken with different brand cameras. No, I hadn't seen Mario's other work, thanks for the link. But the subjects are very different from the landscape, city, travel type photos he is taking on the World Tour; thus hard to determine comparability (better or worse).

I think he does have a tendency to oversharpen... examples the deer shot and another animal shot... the fur seems too spiky, which I guess is sharpening. I read German, but I didn't read the texts in full: is he processing with SPP5.x ?

I'm trying to be careful with SPP5.1 to not oversharpen what I'm now processing of my own photos from this year (I was woefully behind in doing any photo processing from April (Nevada) August (California) and September (New Orleans) trips. April especially out 'west' I have a large number to sort through and process).

I've only see the Japanese photographer's work in the SP1 pool on flickr, but the photos caught my eye for good color as well as detail.

I noticed yesterday in the December US magazine Popular Photography that a SD1 + 150mm photo by Olga V. is the featured Sigma ad (for the 150mm).
Best regards, Sandy (archival) (current)
