Need advice on broken G9

My beloved G9 took a fall. She was in a padded case and only fell about 3 feet, but that did the trick.

When I turned it on the lens extended 3/4 of the way and I got a lens error and beeping. That's the way it's been ever since. Nothing makes it do anything more. The lens is slightly askew from normal so I tried disassembling the camera to see if something could be popped back into place, but I haven't found it yet. I've got a set of precision screwdrivers to open the teeny tiny little screws, but they are in REALLY tight and it's hard generating enough torque to unscrew them before the screw head strips.

Anyway, here's the question, do I risk really tearing it up bad by forcing the lens back into position? Or do I just sell the camera for parts?

Also, I used a custom picture for the startup screen of my kids. If I sell the camera for parts, I would prefer to delete that picture first, but I can't get the camera to stay on long enough to access the menu to reset it. Is there another way to reset everything to factory settings before I sell? And do I bother trying to put it all back together or just sell it in its current disassembled state?

Thanks
