Re: Time of day, directions of shooting, different results.

Ok I shoot the G11 and do plenty of landscapes. Look at my galleries and look at Big Talbot Island Album.

Based on the time of day, where the sun is, and what direction you are shooting, you will get a variation of sky colors.. Toward the sun it will be lighter. Away from the sun on your back the sky will be a darker blue. Clouds play a role on this as well as you can see how I use clouds to make very dramatic skies.

The camera is fine. Its the directions of shooting based on the times of day giving you a gradient effect. Go with it and have fun.

I have noticed that my G11 and SX10 will sometimes produce a sky color with an unnatural blue gradient, with a very dark blue hue developing toward the upper part of the frame. The phenomenon is usually associated with bright blue skies, but will often occur in only a few examples of pictures taken under the same lighting conditions.

The exposure setting and AV selection seem to have nothing to do with this effect, and changing MyColors to very low settings does not eliminate it.

I would appreciate any thoughts or recommendations.
