Agree with OP.

Snort, chuckle!

But the OP is right. I've used Canon cameras for 30 years and always suffered from Nikon-flash envy. It seems I always have to override the Canon speedlight to get the proper exposure, and still the strobe sometimes goes nuts and pops off a full-power or massively underexposed shot.

I use both the 550EX and 580EX right now, but I've used lots of earlier strobes. The decades-old Vivitar 283 did a better job.
