SX40 CHDK Raw vs Superfine JPEG

Had nice light this morning, so took a couple of shots capturing raw and superfine for comparison. Processed the Nuthatch below in RawTherapee (and am definitely NOT a raw processing expert) then sharpened (perhaps too much) in Photoshop. Did spend a fair amount of time playing with the image in RT trying for a decent match to the OOC jpeg. The OOC was shot with my normal contrast/sharpness -2, then contrast bumped and sharpened in PS. The shot was at 14 feet off a tripod, but manual release and IS on Shoot-Only.
The crops are 100%, and the original is at the gallery link.
One conclusion is certainly that the art of sharpening is important.
