Lens for Birding on 60D

Hi.

I'm using a Canon 60D and I want to try bird photography. Currently I have the 70-200 f2.8 and f4. I'm planning to use a 2X telecon into my f2.8 making it 140-400mm. Then I am looking into the Sigma 150-500.

My question is, do I need this Sigma 150-500? Or can I use the f2.8 and 2X combination?

Please advice.

Thanks.
