I am a recent (2 months) convert from m4/3, although I still use my 4/3's gear for work (weddings and stuff) as I cannot get away from the amazing lenses they make for that format, I really like the NEX and where I am hoping it is going.

I have been searching and searching for photographers who really push the NEX line to the edge with their talent and skill. Now I know each of us has a different take on what is great, but I was wondering if everyone here could hand up what they either have done (it is not vain to share :-)) or what they have found and considered inspiring.

Exceptional and inspiring - tough brief and you don't say compared to what :) I've seen exceptional and inspiring shots from old 7MP FZ8's and they sell for £1 on eBay...

Even so, for a great collection of shots try http://www.flickr.com/groups/alpha-nex/

I'm getting some good shots too but I'm also a P&S guy shooting JPEGs so these are probably too basic for what you're after. Even so I'm still getting results like the following which are better than I was getting before I bought the NEX.

I know what you mean regarding just about any camera producing extraordinary images. I have seen some incredible images with the most "mundane" of cameras, however the NEX system is such a breakthrough in technology, usability, and specifically image quality I was wondering what it is capable of in the hands of truly great photographers. Those photogs many times go unheard of and I was wanting to see them uncovered.

any image can be made good from practically any high end camera. only thing you can compare is technicals.

ie. 16mp sensor to another one, then determining how it renders the images through the glass, electronics for exposure.

don't even bother comparing a small 4/3 to APS, or APS to modern full frame. they aren't in the same leauge.

let me say this Nex 5n camera is exceptionally good. i'm brand agnostic as i had shot every system for over 20 years.

the evaluative metering is consistant, the camera shutter is fast to capture the moment (for timing) and the sensor is brilliant up to 1600 ISO shot in raw, the kit lens and 55-210 sort of even in performance every zoom has it's sweet spots.

haters of touch screens and flipout lcds and af will remain. not having it doesn't make one a purist.

the camera is really easy to shoot, only limitation is your imagination and technically the contranst AF where subject move towards and away. i have my dslr for action. and my NEX for everything else.

If you find any you really love then please post the links - I'd like to see them too.

cheers and happy hunting :)

I shoot m4/3 and thinking of switching over to Nex somewhere along the line.

This guy using a NEX5 on a scope for bird shots............

So as a bird and macro shooter, this guy has proved a few things for Nex for what i want.

...these are some of my favorites. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but I enjoyed taking these pictures and I like them.

This is the problem, M43 has all the glass (though there isn't a decent standard zoom yet, the Pan 14-45 is out of production and only as good as a decent copy of the Sony 18-55) but the sensors are weak bar the GH2 one and that's well behind the NEX5N .........

A good copy of the NEX 18-55 is OK and a top copy of the 16mm as good as the panny 14mm despite being wider, better made and half the price but there are no quality zooms full stop - not even to Panny 100-300 level (the Panny 100-300 is as good as budget xx-300 zooms get , on a par with the stablized canon, Nikon and Tamron 70-300s) ..

this may help a full size JPG from the 5N at ISO6400 in low light with a dodgy copy of the kit zoom - if low light isn't your bag

A Problem is only the pessimistic way of looking at a challenge

Not mine though Jeff :). Someone posted a link to his website here at one time. Very skilled nature shooter for sure. Proves how good the NEX can be and its a good reason to switch over.

He has quite and eye for a shot and superb technique.
