It is the processing that is wrong

There is nothing wrong that proper processing would not improve. Flat light should not be a problem for this scene since the texture is based on tone and color, not shadows. As posted, the levels are set totally wrong. I spent a couple of minutes to work on it in Photoshop. Clearly it is not worth a lot of my time to work on a downsized jpeg. I also pumped up the color and contrast more than I normally would just to demonstrate the potential.
