Any one ordered the new X10 hood from Rainbowimaging.

Yes I ordered one last night. $27 and change and included a filter (not high end but for only 5.00 more I figured what the heck. Without filter it was $22) wil let everyone know how it is when I receive it.

This is the right size. The lens hood has to step out wider or it will vignette the image.

I have a similar one on the way from an Amazon dealer - $27 delivered, cheaper than Rainbow. Trevor, the Fuji one won't allow use of the cap either - and they're vented to minimize VF blockage as is the norm in the RF world.

Trevor, even the Fuji-branded one takes 52mm filters, just like the rainbow imaging copy. So that metal lens cap won't fit on no matter which adapter/hood combination you get- the Fuji one or a copy of the Fuji one. I just ordered the rainbow imaging copy from eBay for $29. (though a lower offer seems like it would have been accepted!) and await its delivery.

More info on the rainbow imaging version of the Fuji X10 adapter/hood-

1. It is listed at the eBay site for 39.46 including shipping but there is a "your best offer" option.

2. I made an offer of 28.95 and it was accepted.

3. If you go to the rainbow imaging site you will find it listed at $22.49. (This is clearly what I should have done before I lowballed their 39.45 price!)

I sent them an email about shipping charges and was informed that there is an additional $1. fee. So a total of 23.49 if you order from rainbow imaging directly. They do have a Paypal option.

To wrap it up- Buyer, beware!

Thanks for the heads up HeavyDuty , as the adapter screw in point is so close to the glass a good fit is critical. Will order the jjc one when the camera arrives - I also noticed genuine fujifilm np-50 batteries starting from around $15 each on eBay worldwide. Duracell also make an np-50 battery. Kindest regards. :-)

I ordered one a coupe of day ago for $22.
Waiting for delivery.

BTW I was concern about dust getting on the lens through the viewing slots and the slots should be on the Hood. However it does not matter this lens have a glass cover like most Fuji point and shoot (F31)

Dust will get on the lens and it is not possible to clean without sending to Fuji. How I know?
My F31 is loaded with dust on the inside. :)

Cheers.

Just received my JJC hood. $22

Fit and finish is first quality. I can't compare to Fuji since I don't have one but for the price it is excellent.

I would forget about the filter(protector) since it might cause a problem with certain lighting.
Glass over lens + filter not a good combination.

Cheers

All very handy - if you live in the 'States.

Any other suppliers??

Just got mine. Put a 52mm UV filter on it. Great build quality, looks exactly like the Fuji one. A steal for $22
