Death Valley — Colossal Dunes, critique? (pics)

Gear Involved: I used a Canon 40D and 17-40L, and occasionally the 28mm 1.8 or 85mm 1.8. No tripod. No special HDR software. Single RAW files processed in Lightroom and PS5. Any questions or criticism is welcome. Thanks!

PSS: We tried rather unsuccessfully to slide down the dunes on a piece of cardboard. To make things worse, I had bad food poisoning at this point and trudging up and down the dunes was torture. At least it was beautiful.
