Should I upgrade 450D/XSi to 550D/T2i for $250?

Re: Thanks, all
I think you are making the right decision. I say this because just on IQ alone, the Xsi is excellent even across all of its ISO levels (I have this same camera, my first SLR). But if ever you feel you need ISO 3200 or higher, better resolution on LCD when out viewing what you have shot, faster functions, etc, your 7D is there for you. So your Xsi does exactly what it needs to do... Be a backup camera that provides good photos. Save your money for when 2 years from now or so and you decide to upgrade to the next level body up, your 7D will become your backup camera.

For your thoughtful and helpful answers. I think Rakumi's answer is the compelling one, though, so I'm going to let it go for now. (The deal is that I could get a refurbished T21 with the 18-55 IS lens for about $500 in Canon's loyalty program for a broken Powershot A3000 and I figure I could get about $250 for my XSi and the same lens on EBay.)
