Sony NEX for Manual Focus

I have both a Samsung NX11 and a Sony NEX 3. I recommend the Sony for manual focus lenses. The Sony focus peaking function is very handy and the magnification is better. The Samsung only lets you zoom 2x in peaking mode, or has a bar that is a bit difficult to use (it peaks at the point of best focus, but isn't sensitive enough).

The Sony lets you zoom 7x or 14x (vs the 2x) and you can achieve perfect focus that way, but it also has a mode where you can have the in focus edges highligted so you can quickly see the areas in focus. This sometimes fails at large apertures (like f/1.4 or f/2, but is quite good overall).

The Samsung NX11 has much better controls than the NEX though, you don't have to go into the menus for as much. But in terms of using it with old lenses I would stick to the Sony. However, Samsung could fix some of the issues with a firmware update, but that isn't out yet.
