Re: Greater Yellowstone Winter Suggestions
  1. 2 - dress for the weather - nothing will ruin your trip more than suffering thru serious cold and wind if you aren't prepared. And if you are prepared, the weather can't do a thing to hurt your trip.

  1. 3 - check the snow coach tours that run out of West Yellowstone. I've done two and they are excellent - a great way to see the geyser basin and the Yellowstone falls and canyon - seeing them without taking a snow coach requires a lot of travel on foot and a lot of time.

  1. 4 - the road from Mammoth to Lamar is kept open with interruptions for clearing new snow - what you know about shooting in Lamar still applies in winter.

  1. 1 - for your son, and the father who raised him, thanks - Semper Fi.
