Thanks NuFonaut, I really appreciate the on the scene view. I have been to Nepal and trekked Annapurna, but that was 20 years ago so it's a great reminder. I recall exactly what you mentioned about people photographing the cremations and it did seem very intrusive. I'm going with my 17 year old son and we're taking a guide and two porters. More than we need. I think they'll have an easy time of it considering what these guys usually are expected to carry.

I'm not a lot closer to deciding what to bring... but time will make that choice for me...once I'm on my way I'll make do with what I have
