Definitely museum shots can benefit from HDR, but it's hard to do because the light is usually very dim. The following shot was taken at ISO 800, 3 exposures 1/10, 1/20 and 1/5 sec handheld. It's not always you can get 1/5 sec exposure sharp enough to be useable. Fortunately, most museum exhibits don't move while you shoot
