a77 focus tracking test

One of the things that most interested me in the a77 was the promised improved AF performance - both in terms of acquiring focus quickly, and maintaining it in continuous focus mode.

This is hardly a conclusive test, but I'm certainly encouraged by the results. Here's an 18 shot sequence shot this weekend, in 8fps mode, at f4, with my Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM at 90mm:


This is the whole sequence, straight out of the camera - every shot is there. Looks like it maintained focus for the whole sequence - I'm very happy with this.

I've never had results anywhere close to this with my a700, a55 or Nikon D90 in the past...
