Auto-ISO on K5

I have a question about how Auto-ISO might get turned off when shooting in Av or Tv modes on a K5. Is there anyway other than turning the ISO dial?

I was shooting in an extreme light changes so wished to use Auto-ISO but just kept having to press the green button to get the ISO to adapt to the lighting conditions.

Auto-ISO change speed set to normal. Min/max ISO of 100-1000.

Any suggestions? Did I keep twisting the dial?

Thanks,
RON C
