So I was visiting some extended family today and was given a Ricoh XR500 and a couple lenses. To my surprise the lenses are pk mount! So I can use them on the Pentax. I was also thinking of playing around with the XR500 to do some infrared photography.
Few quick questions as this is my first non-digital camera.
Has anyone used the XR500? Any advice?
Will it matter that the inside of the camera is filthy? I assume as the light is going straight to the film, only a dirty lens would make a difference. (Unless it affects light metering)
Are the lenses any good? I have the Rikenon 1:2 50mm and a Tamron 70-210 1:4-5.6.
Does infrared photography only require me putting in infrared sensitive film or do I need to attach a filter to prevent 'normal' light from entering the camera?
Is there anything I should be aware of that is specific to non-digital cameras. I know the basics on how to set the exposure, so its basically the same minus WB and previews right?
