Firmware 1.12 low battery indication.
Nov 4, 2011
Has anyone had a problem with the battery indicator showing the battery as low charge with a fully charged battery with ver 1.12. I have received my NX100 back from the 2nd attempt to repair it under warranty and they had replaced the top plate, sensor and pcb. It worked fine until I put a lens on when it froze and none of the buttons worked. I took the lens off and reset the camera to no avail. I then upgraded to ver 1.12 which is shown as release date April! The camera then started to function OK apart from the low battery indicator. An attempt to upgrade the lens firmware was unsuccesful as it said the fully charged battery was flat. This happened with different lenses. There does not seem to be a new version of the lens firmware.
I am sending the camera back but has anyone else had low battery indication on fully charged batteries? I suspect the camera is just duff. Samsung say after 3 attempts at repair they replace the camera so hopefully that will happen. I wonder about getting a NX11 as these seem to have a better track record for reliabilty as switching to a different mount camera is expensive. Difficult decision. I suppose with any of this kit it is luck of the draw and you can always get a bad one. I do wonder about this different firmware for camera and lenses especially as Samsung do not post legacy firmware and get the wrong date on the new version.
I tried to roll back the version but it will not allow this.
