I used the HX100V for à few month now. Pictures are well exposed, have good color, and the camera handles contrast extremely well. But what many reviews fail to mention is that it lacks sharpness on pixellevel in scènes or objects in the background of your photo's. Compression and noisereduction are so heavy, that it leads to dissappointing IQ.

I can make à comparison to the SX40, because i work with one for à few weeks now. it's IQ is better and more consistent than the IQ of the Sony. The Sony has many features i like, but for me IQ comes first. that's why I finally made the switch from Sony to Canon.
