T3i - BODY PANEL ATTACHMENT QUESTION
Purchased a T3i recently and discovered that the top panel on the control dial side is loose. The gap (approx 3/32") is enough at the top/front (just above the grip) that the interior of the camera is visible. There is a screw next to the strap ring that I suspect to be cross-threaded, because even with significant torque, it will not rotate (either direction). The screw appears to not be fully seated as it is not drawing the panel down tight against the body.
I had hoped to find the screw loose, tighten it to eliminate the panel gap, and avoid having to package/return the body. However, due to force involved, I gave up further attempts to remove/tighten the screw. At this point, I will return the body, but am simply curious if anyone can confirm if the threads (in the body) receiving the screw are in fact metal.
