I have the Tokina 11-16. The F2.8 does not make a difference because the depth of field also depends on focal length. At 11 to 16 mm even at f2.8 everything is still pretty much still in focus. On the other hand if you have a lens that's at 300mm you can still isolate your subject even at f5.6 or f8.

The Tokina is one of my favorite lenses though.
