Apparently, there is a built-in piece of software on a Mac called iMovie. Allegedly, it is better than Windows Movie Maker so it should have no trouble slowing down your footage by 50%.

The newer iMovie (09) will not accept a movie from the 7D but an older iMovie (HD - always keep older software) will. However, when slowed down, the movement is very jerky.
