Video shot with A77

After getting thoroughly chastised about my first impressions concerning Action AF, let me put the following disclaimer out:

  • I am not a professional videographer.

  • I am not a professional action/sports photographer.

  • I used the notoriously slow focusing 85mm f1.4 ZA for the bulk of the video.

When I shot stills for my school's Sports Day , I also shot video. I wasn't sure if there was enough video footage to make a worthwhile clip but there was enough to create a modest clip.

  • the footage was shot 1080P@60FPS

  • recompiled at 720P@30FPS

I ended up recompiling to 720P@30FPS strictly for space saving and to shorten upload times. I'm assuming there are better samples online to view jello, resolution, etc. This is being shared to fellow Sony SLT enthusiasts.

I think the only real take away technically from viewing this clip online is that having the option of video AF is very nice to have. I would never have been able to run and gun with my 5D2. I imagine with an SSM equipped lens video AF would be even better.
