Rangefinder lenses tend to be preferred as they are much smaller, very high quality and the adaptors are thin as well. Obviously Zeiss and Leica optics are among the finest ever, but Voigtlander have a range of cheaper, smaller lenses which are still very very good.

Try googling fotodiox / rainbow / metabones / voigtlander to see some of the range of adaptors avaliable.

One of the reasons the NEX has been more poplular than expected with enthusiasts is the fact they have the best APS-C sensors, compact bodies and you can mount pretty much any lens on them.

Exposure and manual focus is also much easier and more accurate than say using adapted lenses on a DSLR. This is all done off the sensor itself, so what you see (on the LCD or EVF) is exactly what you get.

Thx for the explanation, I will be finding some adapters and legacy lenses, although I still need to save up some money to buy them, lol
