Canon SX40IS versus Panasonic FZ150?

Sorry to be boring about this.

The Panasonic FZ150 seems to be the faster focussing camera with faster continuous shoot than the SX40IS. The shorter reach lens is overcome by a teleconvertor, though this can be fiddly.

The Canon SX40HS has the longer zoom without using a telephoto lens.

To me, picture quality seems to be similar, though the Canon seems to be softer at low ISO. The Canon might outperform the Panasonic FZ150 at high ISO, however, I'm not sure if this applies with the FZ150's new firmware update.

The main issues to me are camera speed and IQ. If the Panasonic edges it, I'll live with the 24x zoom and buy a teleconvertor. I will miss the 35x zoom of the Canon though.

I currently own a Canon SX30IS and the slow speed of continuous shoot is really letting this camera down IMHO. I'm a previous Panasonic owner, who was seduced by the 35x zoom of the Canon.

Advice? I'm right on the fence here.
