Optical slave trick for Panasonic+external flash

Hi folks,

I have been struggling with using an external flash unit with my GH2 since there is no wireless communication I came across an article that I think could be adapted to be used with the onboard flash to trigger an optical slave. Basically, one would need to build a cheap filter to go over the flash, letting it emit only infrared light. This shouldn't affect the exposure, but will trigger external flash units.

I haven't tried this yet, but I'm interested to know if anyone can come up with a good way of mounting this to a pop-up flash.
