Canon SX40 HS vs Canon SX5 IS night shots

I just got my new Canon SX40 HS yesterday. Haven't had the best weather conditions to test it.
Things I liked as compared to the S5 are:

  • the increased zoom

  • the wider zoom 28mm vs 36mm

  • the better movie mode 720p especially since it's 30 fps, 1080p was

  • the hight ISO performance

  • the new control dial

Things I didn't like are:

  • The EVF is worse than on the S5

  • The superfine JPEGs are gone, now they're only fine. Come on Canon how difficult would it be to add the possibility of choosing the compression level? The same applies for RAW support. We should all complain to Canon to add RAW support since it will solve both problems at the same time.

The Canon SX40 HS high ISO is way much better than my old S5 IS. Most of the shots are blurry because I didn't use a tripod. Look at the pictures below:

ISO 400 (SX40 HS followed by S5):

Your comments are welcome.
I will keep you posted with more shots.
