Whoever says that there's no difference between the GH2 and the Sony 16mp sensor in the D7000/K5/A580/5N hasn't pushed their cameras that hard. There's a bout a stop in ISO performance, and a whopping 2.5 stops in DR.

That's just not possible with the GH2, and the shadow pushing done by DPreview is still only little of what's possible.

Otoh: the Pany is 16 Mpixel and the Canon 8 Mpixel. So at large print sizes the difference will be quite noticable. At lower ISO, Gh2 has better DR too but this may not be visible on trends.

May it is a bit like a dual core processor, quad core etc. If the software doesn't use the cores but one: no difference. But once the CPU is fully used you'll note the difference.
