60D - tripod or monopod recommendation for video please?

I am starting to use my 60D more and more for family and kids activities video shooting. My setup includes a Hoodman HoodLoupe with HoodCrane and a Rode Videomic, which both work very well with 60D.

I would like to add a light, but steady tripod or monopod to my setup. I am kind of leaning towards the Manfrotto 681B monopod:

I am thinking a monopod because it is much easier to carry and setup quickly. Can anyone either confirm my choice or suggest something else that might work better for me? This will be used mainly for video.

Thanks for any input on this...
