Epson 7800 Head Collision
I bought a used Epson 7800. It has worked very well for me.
I finally bought some 24" paper to use the full width of the printer. The head does all its usual scans to check both ends of the paper and that the paper is straight. The paper goes back to the standard starting point and the head goes back to park.
When I try to print anything over 23 inches on the 24 inch paper the head hits the end of its travel on the left side of the printer on its first pass and says Paper Jam. I can hear a click as the head hits the metal end of it's travel channel.
I have made sure that the paper roll is correctly seated in the holder and that the paper is correctly lined up with the printed alignment marks.
It has happened several times. I was able to get it to work by leaving a half inch border on the edge that is printed on the left side of the paper.
The printer is using firmware version SN0185A.800.
Has anyone had this problem or heard of it?
