Re: Anybody dumping NEX for Nikon 1 System?

If someone has a lot of C-lenses from his parents in the cupboard
and if he is a true Nikon fan
and if tele is more important than landscape photography
and if he doesn't care about noise when using the small camera
.....
... then I assume the J1/V1 has some appeal.

Just buying the body and then attaching adapter and F-lenses would be a cheap alternative to other mirrorless systems, if the prices weren't so high you'd get an entire kit
from other brands already.

You can excellent images from camera with smaller sensor, so the IQ might be
still acceptable, while not exceeding that of M43.

But at that size, why not buy a Nex with APS-C sensor? Because for family pictures, more DOF of the smaller sensor is a benefit? And the noise will be less than that of compact
cameras? And you can re-use your Nikkon DSLR lenses?

Maybe that's the niche aimed at.
