X10 or Canon S100?
The Canon IS will almost certainly be better, but if your subjects are moving during a 1/4 second exposure the photo probably won't turn out as you hoped. If you want to take unposed photos indoors of parties, events, and kids, being able to use 1/25th of a second at ISO 800 will be excellent. On paper the X10 seems like it should have quite a good ISO 800, compared to many other compacts whose IQ really falls off after 400.
