I'm new to DSLR photography (I've had mine since only June), and I just recently decided to purchase a tripod, since the things I wish to capture are often low-light, nature shots, sunrises and sunsets, landscapes, and moving water or waterfalls with long exposures. I bought the NexxTech 1.4 meter "mid-sized tripod" for $40.00.
The problem? I can't fix my camera onto the @!$#ing thing!! The metal peg next to the screw won't push down to the base of the part where you attach the camera. Because it sticks out, you can't screw on the camera. Am I missing something obvious, or is it just broken? Can I fix it? Or do I just have to return it...
