No, not at all.

What I am saying (and more importantly, what the OP very ably demonstrated), is that the 12fps mode can be quite useful -- in spite of the necessary technological limitations on aperture control -- because it appears Sony actually did implement this mode pretty well in the A77. And that, if you're not a good enough photographer to be able to adapt to those limitations, you can still shoot with full control at 8fps -- which (to repeat myself) still matches the current state of the art in APS-C DSLRs.
